Senior Design & Certification Engineer

Aerospace Engineering Solutions is seeking a Senior Design and Certification Engineer to join our Málaga team. This on site position is open to candidates with the right to work in Europe and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to industry leading aerospace engineering projects. Our engineers are involved in all aspects of the engineering lifecycle, including feasibility studies, scheming, drafting, certification, and testing as required, always delivering work with exceptional attention to detail.

Your mission:

  • Perform and lead minor & major modifications (STCs) including compiling technical and certification aspects.
  • Prepare design documents and perform design checks to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Sufficient relevant experience to be promoted to CVE in Cabin Safety and/or Structures after undergoing through our development plan.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate engineers, identifying training needs and supporting their development.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, CVEs and Head of Design on critical technical decisions.
  • Contribute to process improvements and propose new ideas for business growth.
  • Communicates effectively with customers, sales, and marketing teams.

What we’re looking for:

  • Prior proven experience in a Part21J DOA (4-5 years) working on aircraft modifications.
  • Experience with DOA on preparing engineering on integrating cabin equipment (galleys, seats, wardrobes, safety equipment, other equipment).
  • Experience with DOA checking design data.
  • High performance in developing modification packages across cabin safety (mainly) and structures (electrics and avionics desirable): certification plans, change classifications, supplements, instructions for continued airworthiness, relevant analysis (flammability, stress, electrical loads, flammability and weight and balance) and service bulletins, AES expects a high degree of attention to detail.
  • A thorough understanding of EASA Part 21 requirements for design organizations and the certification process.
  • Strong/advanced knowledge of EASA regulatory framework: EASA CSs (specially CS25), Certification Memorandums, Special Conditions, Equivalent Safety Findings and Relevant FAA guidance material.
  • Understand and interpret aircraft constructor’s data (aircraft manuals, IPC/AMM/SRM/WDM), drawings, parts lists, reports) web access for both Airbus and Boeing.
  • Strong technical drawing and IT skills: AutoCAD (2D), SolidWorks, MS Word & Excel, Teams.
  • Aircraft technical knowledge (Boeing and Airbus primarily).
  • Experience with DOA on integrating cabin equipment (galleys, seats, wardrobes, safety equipment, other equipment).
  • Effective communication, empathy, mentoring, leadership, critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Good individual and group project management skills.
  • Fluent Proven Spanish (spoken and written).
  • Fluent Proven English (spoken and written).
  • Share and promote AES values: teamwork, excellence, proactiveness, adaptability and continuous learning.
  • Ability to work and reside in EU without restrictions and without need for sponsorship.
